Job summary

Shoalhaven High School in Nowra seeks a dedicated Head Teacher to lead teaching and learning, drive literacy initiatives, and support wellbeing in a large, diverse school.

You will manage timetabling and staffing, oversee the use of school systems such as Sentral, Edval and SAP, and work with the executive team to implement strategic directions and Aboriginal education policies. Strong engagement with students, families and the community is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Proven teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with ability to lead and design inclusive teaching and learning programs.
• Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to engage students, staff and parents.
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead school teaching and learning strategies aligned with department policies.
• Oversee timetabling, staffing and compliance using school admin systems.
• Collaborate with executive team to drive strategic directions.
• Monitor and evaluate school processes to support initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders including students and families.
