Flight Centre Travel Group is seeking a Head of Technology to unite engineering, QA, project delivery and IT support into a high-performing, customer-focused technology organisation. You will lead leaders, instill accountability and drive a culture of continuous improvement to convert ideas into customer value.

You will work closely with stakeholders to execute strategy, foster innovation, and ensure technology investments deliver measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in engineering management leading teams of engineers.
• Experience implementing engineering processes and procedures.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional agile delivery teams.
• Strong leadership, coaching and people development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilités

Day in the life:

• Define and drive the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap in partnership with business stakeholders
• Lead engineering operations across business analysis, architecture, software engineering, quality assurance, and support functions
• Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
• Build, develop, and lead high-performing engineering teams through effective coaching, mentorship, and performance management
• Develop and implement engineering processes and practices that improve efficiency, quality, and security
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to understand customer needs and deliver successful outcomes
• Manage engineering budgets, resources, forecasts, risks, and constraints across delivery initiatives
• Drive agile delivery practices including roadmaps, estimations, capacity planning, stakeholder engagement, and communication
• Ensure technical quality, technology governance, and cyber security risks are effectively managed
• Identify and adopt technology innovations that enhance business performance
• Set OKRs, support professional development, and continuously evolve team capability

You’ll be perfect for the role, if you have:

• 5+ year's experience in engineering management leading teams of engineers and delivering high-quality products
• Experience developing and implementing engineering processes and procedures
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional agile delivery teams
• Strong understanding of software engineering, product design, and product development principles
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, practices, and ways of working
• Experience managing budgets, resources, risks, and delivery outcomes
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience within travel or other internet-scale environments (desirable)
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
