Job description
Head of Talent - ANZ - $160-170k + Super

The Company

This organisation is a globally backed, fast-growing consumer brand with a strong cultural presence and an expanding footprint across Australia and New Zealand. With thousands of employees across retail, distribution, and support office environments, the business is investing heavily in people, systems, and capability to support its next phase of growth.

Engagement scores have increased by 5% in the last six months, and multiple new systems have recently been implemented. The foundations are in place. Now, the focus is on lifting quality, consistency, and long-term talent outcomes.

The Leaders

Reporting into the GM of People & Culture, this role works closely with senior executives and business leaders across ANZ. You will lead the Talent function end-to-end, overseeing a Retail Talent Manager who manages all store and distribution centre recruitment, alongside their team.

You will be trusted to set direction, challenge thinking, and partner proactively with leaders who want Talent to be a competitive advantage, not a transactional service.

The Opportunity

As Head of Talent, you will define and deliver the enterprise talent strategy across support office, retail, and distribution environments. Your focus will be on governance, assessment quality, employer brand, pipeline health, and long-term workforce planning.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Owning senior support office recruitment while overseeing high-volume retail hiring at scale.
  • Leading and evolving a white‑glove TA service model with clear standards, governance, and accountability.
  • Elevating employer branding, voice to market, SEEK performance, and candidate experience.
  • Strengthening assessment frameworks, including interview structure, role play, and hiring guidance.
  • Driving proactive workforce planning, succession pipelines, and internal mobility.
  • Optimising TA systems and processes across ATS and HRIS platforms to improve insight and consistency.

This role balances strategy with action. At peak, the business may manage 70 retail roles concurrently alongside 6–10 senior support office vacancies, requiring both commercial judgement and operational discipline.

About You

You are a commercially minded Head of Talent or senior TA leader who wants to do more than fill roles. You bring a broad, enterprise-level talent skillset and enjoy building governance, process, and proactive workforce strategies that elevate how a business attracts, assesses, and retains people. Comfortable operating at scale, you have experience overseeing senior support office hiring and high-volume retail environments, and leading TA leaders who manage day-to-day delivery. You care deeply about candidate experience, assessment quality, employer brand, and pipeline health, and you are motivated by creating a Talent function that partners with leaders pre‑emptively rather than reactively. You are hungry, improvement-focused, and not interested in coasting!
