Job summary

Talent Right partners with a specialist construction contractor to recruit a Head of Pre-Construction, based in Sydney with national travel. The role sits between sales and delivery, owning the national pre-construction function from qualification through to handover.

You will lead 5–8 staff across estimating, pre-construction management, and drafting, and champion rigorous tender testing, risk pricing and value engineering to support profitable project wins.

Qualifications

• Senior experience in pre-construction, estimating, commercial management or project management within construction, civil or infrastructure.
• Process-driven and disciplined with rigour to standardise across multiple offices.
• Strong commercial judgement and comfort owning margin and risk sign-off.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build the national pre-construction team, setting standards and accountabilities.
• Own pre-construction strategy on major opportunities; manage tender strategy, estimation, buildability and procurement.
• Oversee risk, margins and exclusions; ensure tender assumptions are tested and delivered.
• Coordinate handover to delivery and establish feedback to improve future tenders.
