Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Manager of Cyber Offensive to lead a high‑performing team focused on penetration testing and offensive security. This hybrid role is based at Macquarie Park, Sydney, and requires Australian citizenship with NV1 clearance.

You will oversee external vendors, translate security findings for executives, and shape the organisation’s cyber maturity roadmap. You will drive offensive security programs, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and champion governance

Qualifications

• Innovative senior cybersecurity leadership experience.
• Experience delivering penetration testing and security assurance programs.
• Ability to translate technical findings to business insights for executives.
• Experience with governance, compliance, audit and risk management.
• Experience managing external security vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing cyber offensive capability, managing a team of specialists focused on penetration testing and cyber attack simulation.
• Provide both technical and people leadership, ensuring activities are delivered safely and in line with enterprise security requirements.
• Drive maturity of offensive security practices, including red teaming, adversary simulation, and tooling strategies.
• Refine testing approaches, optimise tools, and strengthen the organisation's security posture while reducing cyber risk.
• Manage external penetration testing providers and security vendors, monitoring service quality and contractual delivery.
• Translate technical findings into business insights, presenting risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Lead planning and delivery of offensive security programs across a complex stakeholder environment.
• Ensure governance, compliance, audit and risk management requirements are met.
