Job summary

ANZUK Education is partnering with a leading independent boys' college in Brisbane to appoint a Head of Mathematics in a permanent leadership role commencing 2027. The successful candidate will provide strategic and instructional leadership for the Mathematics department, oversee curriculum and assessment, mentor staff and contribute to the wider academic and co-curricular life of the College.

A strong track record in senior secondary Mathematics, a current QCT registration, and full working

Qualifications

• Significant teaching experience in Mathematics.
• Proven leadership experience within a secondary Mathematics department or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and senior secondary Mathematics pathways.
• Current, or ability to obtain, QCT registration.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and instructional leadership across the Mathematics department.
• Lead the development, implementation and review of Mathematics curriculum and teaching programs.
• Support and mentor Mathematics staff to promote high-quality teaching and learning.
• Use data and evidence to monitor student achievement and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration and continuous professional growth.
• Oversee assessment, curriculum planning and moderation across the department.
• Teach Mathematics as required, modelling high-quality classroom practice.
• Contribute to the wider academic and co-curricular life of the College.
