Job summary

NSW School of Languages, a dedicated languages-only distance education high school, seeks a Head Teacher Languages to support attendance, engagement and compliance with NSW Education Standards Authority requirements.

The role focuses on leading student management for languages offered at distance, coordinating staff, and ensuring high-quality learning experiences for about 2,800 students with a large teaching team.

Qualifications

• Successful teaching experience with capacity to improve teaching and classroom practice.
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare; ability to design inclusive programs.
• Education leadership skills to build capacity in staff and teams.
• Strong communication to engage students, staff and parents.
• Ability to plan and manage resources to support teaching and learning.
• Commitment to NSW Department of Education Aboriginal education policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Student Management in relation to language studies at Distance Education.
• Support attendance, engagement and compliance with NSW Education Standards Authority.
• Collaborate with school executive on programs aligned with goals.
• Lead professional learning to build capacity in student management systems.
