Job summary

The Australian National University’s Centre for Indigenous Economic Transformation (CIET) seeks an experienced senior leader to establish and lead the Centre's education and professional development portfolio.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Associate Director will design, pilot and deliver executive education, professional development and other capability-building initiatives with First Nations partners and across sectors.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience at senior level in education, policy or Indigenous affairs
• Strong stakeholder engagement and governance experience
• Experience designing and delivering executive education or professional development programs
• Budgeting and program management capabilities
• Strategic partnership development with government, industry and academia
• Commitment to Indigenous self-determination and cultural safety principles

Responsibilities

• Develop culturally grounded curricula, microcredentials, masterclasses and resources.
• Work with First Nations partners to ensure programs respond to priorities, recognise authority and protect ICIP.
• Build and manage executive education partnerships across First Nations organisations, government, industry, philanthropy, education providers and international Indigenous institutions, and represent the Centre in senior forums.
• Oversee the pipeline program, delivery models, workforce, resources and budgets, and identify funding and earned-income opportunities.
• Maintain effective governance, quality assurance, risk management, evaluation and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
• Lead and develop the Education and Professional Development team, fostering a collaborative, accountable and culturally safe team culture.
• Contribute to First Nations leadership of the Centre and provide advice on Centre-wide strategy, planning, governance and reporting.
