Job summary

HorizonOne Recruitment Pty in Canberra is seeking a senior CA/CPA to lead the group's technical accounting, statutory reporting and taxation compliance. You will manage a five-person team, report to the Group Manager, and present to the audit and risk committee and the board.

The role blends technical accounting with governance, system improvements, and end-to-end tax responsibilities, including JV/partnership reporting, impairment modelling, and external audit coordination, with a focus on

Qualifications

Tertiary accounting qualifications with CA/CPA membership.
10+ years in financial reporting and taxation in a large organisation.
Experience managing external auditors and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the audit and risk committee and the board on financial reporting, external audit and tax matters.
Leading delivery of year-end financial statements for JV and partnership entities.
Running the external audit process and maintaining a strong auditor relationship.
Providing technical accounting advice across the group on complex transactions.
Overseeing implementation of new accounting standards and sustainability reporting requirements.
Managing month-end close, consolidations, and asset register maintenance.
Leading end-to-end tax function across income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax.
Developing and coaching the team to uplift capability.
