The Company

Established in Forbes, NSW in 1915, today they have over 70 branches and 100 specialist advisors in agronomy and animal health, strategically located throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania through various locally branded businesses who providelocal and innovative services to clients.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director and part of the AVS Leadership Team, the Head Field Services role will drive strategic growth and profitability by leading key agronomic segments such as broadacre, horticulture and pasture advice, precision agronomy, animal health and tech service teams as well as sustainable farming services. Duties also include (but not limited to):

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand market share.
  • Develop key client relationships across the broader network and ensure ongoing client engagement.
  • Drive sales and fee for service growth.
  • Championing a safety leadership culture and ensuring compliance across team segments.
  • Focus on team leadership, including team retention rates and developing internal leaders and technical experts.
The Person

We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following background, key skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated senior leadership managing high performing and multi-layered teams.
  • Extensive technical agronomic experience ideally with exposure to broadacre and/or horticultural markets, as well as a sound knowledge of farm input markets.
  • Continuous learning mindset to maintain knowledge of the latest industry innovations and emerging sustainability trends, including precision agriculture and application of other technology advancements to agronomy.
  • Experience in strategic planning, development and execution skills, with a proven ability to drive business growth.
  • Strong stakeholder relationships skills, managing both customers, internal partners and executive leadership to collaborate effectively.
  • Sound commercial acumen and an understanding of modern value drivers in today’s agricultural market.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across the entire business.

There is considerable flexibility in where the successful applicant can reside for this position, however the role will require extensive travel across the East Coast of Australia.
