Your opportunity

As our Head of Business Solutions, you'll lead the creation of secure, scalable, and user-focused solutions that enable our teams to deliver life-changing services. From setting strategy and roadmaps to embedding modern practices like Agile and DevOps, you'll balance innovation with stability, applying architectural principles and governance frameworks to ensure every solution is fit for purpose. Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Lead the development and execution of Business Solutions strategies that prioritise employee experience and business process excellence through effective systems and technologies.
  • Deliver secure, scalable, and fit-for-purpose applications using enterprise architecture principles, cloud platforms, and modern development frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, ITIL-based processes, and policy standards to ensure efficient and compliant technology delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to solution architecture, design patterns, and cybersecurity standards across all platforms and integrations.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to capture functional requirements, improve user experience (UX), and drive collaborative solution design.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing technical team, fostering expertise in Agile methodologies, product management, and continuous improvement.
Requirements for success
  • Extensive IT Leadership Experience: 15+ years in IT or business, with 10+ years in senior leadership roles covering strategy, budgeting, and operational delivery.
  • Knowledge of Modern Practices: Familiarity with Agile principles and DevOps concepts to understand delivery approaches, without direct management responsibility.
  • Enterprise Architecture & Design: Ability to apply architectural principles, design patterns, and security standards to deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Technology Transformation: Demonstrated success leading IT transformation initiatives in complex, dynamic environments.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Skilled in technology road mapping, process improvement, and solution governance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to influence and collaborate across diverse business units, translating functional requirements into practical solutions.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budget planning, cost transparency, and commercial management within IT functions.
  • Technical Breadth: Familiarity with cloud platforms, integration frameworks, and cybersecurity best practices.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
