Job summary

Mercer in Sydney is seeking a senior leader to drive the advice strategy for Mercer Super. This hybrid role requires office presence at least three days per week and focuses on delivering high-quality member advice services and strategic initiatives.

You will manage intrafund advice operations, external advisers, and regulatory compliance while partnering across the Marsh network to optimise outcomes for members and the business.

Qualifications

• Relevant undergraduate qualification essential.
• RG146 compliance mandatory.
• At least 10 years of relevant industry experience in intrafund advice.
• Experience managing external financial advisers and licensees, including representation on AP Lists (APLs).
• Strong knowledge of super fund and super fund advice operations, flows, retention and growth drivers.
• Senior stakeholder management with Executive, Board and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and annual review of the advice strategy aligned with Mercer Super’s strategy.
• Oversee intrafund advice provision and adviser service experience.
• Drive initiatives to support member confidence, retention, growth and better outcomes through advice services.
• Manage supplier relationships, service levels, reporting, risks and controls related to advice functions.
• Monitor metrics related to advice initiatives and outcome delivery.
• Ensure risk and control frameworks comply with regulations while optimising advice service proposition.
• Oversee projects related to advice strategy, including regulatory, product or experience changes.
• Represent Mercer Super at external conferences to promote the advice proposition.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Super team. This role will be based in Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Head of Advice is responsible for Mercer Super’s advice proposition and strategy, adviser and member advice service experience, and advice delivery. The role operates as a strategic integrator within the Mercer Super distribution function, ensuring all advice-related activities align to deliver meaningful value to Mercer Super and its members.

We will count on you to:

• Lead the development and annual review of the advice strategy aligned with Mercer Super’s strategy
• Oversee and optimise intrafund advice provision and adviser service experience
• Drive initiatives to support member confidence, retention, growth, and better outcomes through advice services

What you need to have:

• Relevant undergraduate qualification essential; postgraduate and/or professional qualification highly desirable
• RG146 compliance mandatory
• At least 10 years of relevant industry experience, including managing intrafund advice businesses and teams
• Experience managing external financial advisers and licensees, including representation on Approved Product Lists (APLs)
• Strong knowledge of super fund and super fund advice operations, flows, retention, and growth drivers
• Senior stakeholder management experience, including Executive, Board and regulators
