Job summary

Bar Beach Bowling and Sporting Club – Merewether NSW is seeking a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef to lead the kitchen and drive a fresh, innovative menu featuring premium ingredients and pub classics.

You will manage a dynamic kitchen team, ensure top-tier food quality, and maintain efficient operations across high-volume catering and events. Availability for peak season is essential, with Wednesday-Sunday trading and no late nights.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality venue.
• Strong leadership and team management skills including staff training.
• Ability to manage stock, costing, and kitchen operations efficiently.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards in both food quality and presentation.
• Experience with high volume function catering.
• Experience with rostering and wage costs.
• Experience writing menus.
• Strong focus on WHS practices within the kitchen.
• Must be available to work peak season.
• Bistro currently trades Wednesday-Sunday, no late nights!
