Job summary

Metroll Mackay is seeking a motivated HC Truck Driver to join our Mackay team. The role involves safe delivery of roofing and steel products, operating cranes on trucks, and maintaining vehicle safety and paperwork. You will be engaged in a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on customer service.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm with some overtime. We value pride in work, reliability and a professional presentation in a team‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Current HC (Heavy Combination) licence required.
• Current Forklift Licence required.
• Experience operating HC vehicles in local/regional settings.
• Experience operating trucks fitted with cranes.
• Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HC vehicles for local and regional deliveries.
• Load and unload products using cranes on trucks.
• Secure loads and ensure load restraint per safety requirements.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and pre‑start checks.
• Provide professional, customer‑focused service at delivery sites.
• Assist with yard and warehouse duties when required.
• Maintain accurate proof of delivery documents.

About The Role

Reporting to the Dispatch Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of roofing and steel building products to customers across Mackay and surrounding areas.

This is a hands‑on role that combines driving, customer service and operational support. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is motivated to perform at a high standard and understands the importance of providing a positive customer experience.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm ( with some overtime required)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely operating HC vehicles for local and regional deliveries
• Operating trucks fitted with cranes to safely load and unload products
• Loading, securing and unloading steel products in accordance with safety requirements
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and pre‑start checks
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately, safely and on time
• Maintaining proof of delivery documentation and delivery records
• Providing professional and customer‑focused service at delivery sites
• Assisting with yard and warehouse duties when required
• Complying with all Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and load restraint requirements
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised vehicle and work environment
