Job summary

Toll People in Sydney is seeking a proactive Yard Truck Driver / Preloader to support transport operations at a Major Hazard Facility handling Dangerous Goods. The role focuses on preloading and securing freight to ensure drivers depart promptly each morning with minimal delays.

You will work closely with warehouse, transport and scheduling teams to prepare freight safely, accurately and efficiently for dispatch. Start time is 12pm to 8pm, and pay rates are AUD 57.66–61.68 per hour.

Qualifications

• LF Forklift Licence is required or be willing to obtain.
• HC or MC Driver's Licence is required.
• Experience in freight handling and warehouse operations preferred.
• Experience handling Dangerous Goods (DG) is an advantage.
• Understanding of Major Hazard Facility (MHF) safety requirements; training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and secure freight using a forklift onto delivery vehicles in line with load restraint guidelines and DG requirements.
• Operate a prime mover within the yard, including safely coupling and uncoupling trailers per site procedures.
• Complete occasional local deliveries as required.
• Complete loading records and ensure paperwork is prepared for drivers.
• Conduct visual inspections of vehicles, freight and load restraints for safety and compliance.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and site safety initiatives.
• Perform general storeperson and warehouse duties when preloading is not required.
• Follow directions from Warehouse Team Leaders and allocate tasks based on operations.

• Work under the direction of Warehouse Team Leaders, who will oversee floor activities and allocate tasks based on operational requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Current LF Forklift Licence or willing to obtain.
• Current HC or MC Driver's Licence.
• Previous experience in freight handling, load restraint and warehouse operations.
• Experience handling Dangerous Goods is highly regarded.
• Understanding of Major Hazard Facility (MHF) safety requirements, with training provided where required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
