Job summary

Toowoomba Hand & Wrist Surgery in Toowoomba, QLD is seeking an experienced Hand Therapist to join our small specialist team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role covers assessment and treatment of acute injuries, trauma, chronic conditions and postoperative cases.

You will work alongside a fellowship-trained hand surgeon, with on-site hand therapy and rehabilitation in a new purpose-built clinic, delivering high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy (or equivalent recognised qualification)
• current AHPRA registration in relevant profession
• demonstrated experience in hand and upper-limb therapy
• experience in postoperative rehabilitation
• experience in splinting and orthotic fabrication
• strong clinical assessment and rehabilitation skills
• current professional indemnity insurance
• current legal rights to work in Australia
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• commitment to high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care
• experience within a specialist hand therapy service or private practice would be highly regarded

About Us

Toowoomba Hand and Wrist Surgery is an established specialist surgical practice providing expert care for hand and wrist conditions to patients throughout Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and wider southwest Queensland.

We are expanding into a new, custom-built practice designed to provide an integrated approach to hand and wrist care. Our aim is to provide a dedicated centre where patients can receive specialist assessment and treatment from a fellowship-trained hand and wrist surgeon, together with on-site hand therapy and rehabilitation.

This integrated model will allow the surgeon and hand therapist to work closely together throughout a patient’s treatment, whether they are managed non-operatively or require surgery followed by rehabilitation.

We are a small, close-knit team offering a friendly, professional and supportive working environment, with a shared commitment to providing high-quality, personalised and patient-centred care.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and professional clinician who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively as part of a small specialist team.

The successful candidate will have:

a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, or equivalent recognised qualification
