Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking a Geologist to join the Growth Department in Kalgoorlie on a residential 8/6 11-hour roster. The role focuses on interpreting core data, supervising drilling, and safeguarding geological information within the underground operations team at KCGM.

The successful candidate will liaise with the Senior Geologist, bring strong mineralogical knowledge, and work within a dynamic mining environment in Western Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification (degree level) in geology.
• 2+ years of experience as a geologist in the resource industry.
• Experience with mining and geology software packages such as Datamine, Leapfrog and Acquire.
• Ability to work well in a team, including Contractor Management (analytical assay and drilling).
• Must reside in the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate for our residential world-class ore body.
• Current Unencumbered Western Australian "C" Class Manual Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Utilise analytical and technical expertise to interpret geological data from core samples.
• Supervise drilling contractors and provide expert guidance to maximise project efficiency and discovery.
• Be the gatekeeper of geological data, ensuring drilling results, core logging, and laboratory analysis are accurate and reliable.
• Possess a strong understanding of geology, rock types and mineralogy.
• Analyse and interpret geological data using advanced software and tools to uncover hidden details beneath the surface.
