Job summary

A leading corporation in Australia is seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant for a newly created role. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns for the APAC region, providing guidance on tax issues, and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role offers competitive remuneration including superannuation, a supportive culture, and a hybrid working model (2 days in the office, 3 from home). This position starts as a 3-month contract.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Consolidated Tax Return and Schedules for the APAC region.
  • Provide guidance on tax issues to group companies.
  • Conduct Quarterly Tax Effect Accounting and ASX reporting.
  • Prepare returns for indirect tax such as GST & FBT.
  • Research various tax issues as required.

The Organisation

Our client is a large listed corporation with a diverse range of products and services. Their Tax function is expanding and looking to add a highly skilled Tax Accountant to their team in an exciting newly created role.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Tax, your role will include but not be limited to :

  • Preparation of Consolidated Tax Return and Schedules for APAC region.
  • Provide guidance to group companies on any tax issues that arise in consultation with the Head of Tax.
  • Quarterly Tax Effect Accounting, related tax disclosures and ASX reporting requirements.
  • Preparation of returns for indirect tax (GST & FBT).
  • Prepare and / or review of monthly and quarterly business activity statements for all related entities.
  • Research into various tax issues as required.
  • Constant development and improvement of systems and tax reporting processes.
  • Provide training and staff guidance on tax technical issues
  • Establish and maintain the relationship with the groups companies, management and external professional consultants and agents
The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be CA or CPA qualified with in depth and broad tax experience in an industry based role. Candidates with a grounding within Mid-Tier or Big 4 accounting firm will also be considered. This is a hands on and broad role with great exposure, you will be looking to take the next step in your career and be willing to challenge the status quo.
