Job summary

Fitness First in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is seeking a Part-Time Group Fitness Manager to lead and inspire instructors, design timetables, and drive member engagement. You’ll coach a diverse team across group fitness offerings, ensure high-quality classes, and manage payroll and rostering with a hands-on leadership approach.

You will oversee instructor development, score performance, and collaborate with regional leaders to grow member engagement while maintaining exceptional studio standards

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience delivering engaging Group Fitness classes.
• Leadership or team management experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Skilled at designing timetables that balance member demand and business goals.
• Confident communicator with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with admin and compliance tasks.
• Certificate III in Fitness (or equivalent), current AusActive registration, plus First Aid & CPR.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a high-performing team of Group Fitness Instructors, Reform Instructors, and Arena Coaches.
• Create and optimise timetables to maximise class attendance, member engagement, and business KPIs.
• Recruit, assess, and develop instructors to deliver consistently high-quality classes.
• Oversee administration including payroll, rostering, compliance, and equipment checks.
• Collaborate with club and regional leaders to drive member growth through group fitness.
• Ensure all studios are kept neat, exceptionally clean, and presentable to reflect our standards.
• Ensure member feedback is managed professionally and service standards are met.

The Opportunity

As Group Fitness Manager at Fitness First, you’ll be the driving force behind one of the most energising parts of the club. You’ll lead and inspire a talented team of instructors to deliver world-class classes that keep members motivated, engaged, and coming back for more.

You’ll oversee the full group exercise experience across the club -shaping a timetable that delivers variety, energy and real value for members. Along the way, you’ll coach and develop your instructors, helping them elevate their performance and create unforgettable class experiences.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll influence everything from instructor development and class quality to attendance performance and member engagement. Your leadership will set the tone for the studio, creating an environment where instructors thrive and members feel inspired to push further every time they step into a class.

Because when the music starts, the lights come up and the room moves together –fitness becomes something people can’t wait to come back to.

This is a part‑time role of 30 per week.

About You

• Certificate III in Fitness (or equivalent), current AusActive registration, plus First Aid & CPR

• A team player with professionalism, energy, and a passion for creating unforgettable fitness experiences

• Reform training (if managing a Reform club) and a current WWCC may be required depending on state
