Job summary

A Real Estate investment group is seeking a Group Accountant to manage financial reporting across their asset portfolio in a stable and supportive environment. This role involves consolidation of financial data, preparation of management accounts, and maintenance of the general ledger. Ideal candidates should have a proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail. Experience in property accounting is a plus but not essential.

This Real Estate investment group are currently recruiting for a Group Accountant to join this established boutique family office finance team. The group have been in long operation, are very stable and profitable while most of the team are long standing in their roles.

This is an opportunity to take responsibility over a Real Estate asset portfolio and will see the responsibilities span across both financial and management reporting. Full training will be given where necessary, any experience of accounting in the property sector would be advantageous, not essential, while the Financial Controller is looking for someone who takes initiative to problem solving and has strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • This is a role that offers hybrid working, a professional and relaxed working environment and you will be well supported by the Finance Manager and other team members. The role includes.
  • Consolidation of financial information from property managers into Xero
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts for review by the Finance Manager
  • In conjunction with Finance Manager, preparation, review and finalisation of annual audited financial statements
  • Liaise with property managers to ensure receipt of financial data is received in a timely manner and required format
  • Assist with the preparation of cash flow forecasts
  • Management of company capital expenditure and maintain the capex register
  • Management of company interest payments and maintain the interest tracking sheet
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budget
  • Assist Investment Managers with preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Assisting with preparation of BAS, IAS, FBT and PAYG returns
  • Assisting with preparation of annual tax returns and tax workpapers
  • Maintenance of the general ledger including processing of required journal entries
  • Maintaining supporting schedules and reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet
  • Invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Creditor reconciliations and accounts payable
