Job summary

Catholic Education Western Australia Limited is seeking a Grounds person to maintain college grounds and facilities to a high standard. The role is full-time and reports to the Property Maintenance Manager within the Property Maintenance Team.

The position requires experience in groundskeeping or maintenance, ability to operate gardening machinery, and a current WA C Class driver's licence, plus compliance with Working with Children Checks and Catholic school accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing as soon as practicable.

Essential

Selection Criteria:

• A strong commitment to the ethos of Catholic education and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the Lumen Christi College community.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening or general maintenance.
• Experience operating and maintaining gardening machinery and equipment.
• Ability to undertake basic property maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• Current C Class WA Driver's Licence.
• Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain.
• Completed, or willing to complete, Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Maintain professionalism with students, parents, staff and visitors.

Desirable

• Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or a related field.
• Experience working in a school environment.
• Experience maintaining sporting grounds and reticulation systems.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• MR/HR Driver's Licence.
