Job summary

Dalby Christian College, a co-educational Christian School serving Prep–Year 12, is seeking a Groundsman for a full-time position with an immediate start. The successful applicant will maintain the College grounds, buildings, and infrastructure, ensuring safe and well-kept property while supporting a team environment and the College ethos.

Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Queensland Blue Card and a current driver’s licence (manual preferred).

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance of school or institutional grounds.
• Hold a valid Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or be eligible.
• Current driver’s licence (manual would be an advantage).

Responsibilities

• Maintain College open spaces, surrounds and lawn areas to a high standard.
• Keep the school facade clean and tidy along the perimeter.
• Operate machinery in line with safe operating procedures and perform basic maintenance.
• Carry out irrigation, plumbing installation/maintenance and equipment servicing.
• Perform building maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Work in a team and be willing to undertake additional training.

Dalby Christian College is seeking a Groundsman in a full time position for an immediate start.

The successful applicant’s responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining, to a high standard, the College’s open spaces, surrounds and lawn areas.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy school facade along the College’s perimeter.
• Operate various types of machinery in accordance with safe operating procedures.
• Carry out basic maintenance on machinery and all powered equipment and hand tools.
• Carry out irrigation and plumbing installation, maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out building maintenance, repairs and servicing to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Work in a team environment and on occasion, work with minimum supervision.
• Prepared to undertake any additional training to complement the position.
• Any other duties that have been allocated by the Grounds and Facilities Manager.

The successful applicant must:

• Hold or are eligible to hold a valid Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• Hold a current drivers licence (manual would be an advantage).
