Kolsen in Darwin is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Gardener to join our team. You will maintain pristine landscapes in a high-visibility location, perform mowing, edging, irrigation checks and plant care to ensure lush green spaces.

The role requires a trade qualification in horticulture, at least three years' hands-on experience, a manual Class C licence, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

• Trade-qualified with Certificate III in Horticulture (Floriculture) from a recognised RTO.
• At least three years' practical horticulture experience.
• Class C manual driver's licence.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and a National Police Check.

Responsabilidades

• Mow lawns, edge, prune and maintain garden beds to high standards.
• Inspect irrigation, report faults and adjust watering as required.
• Monitor plant health, identify diseases and take appropriate action.
• Apply fertilisers per instructions and use spraying equipment safely.
• Maintain tools/equipment and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ensure work causes minimal disruption to customers and the public.
• Assist in on‑the‑job training and comply with safety policies.

Description

RAMS Is looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Gardener to join the team. Work in one of Darwin's most stunning locations. Maintain pristine landscapes, ensuring lush green spaces and vibrant gardens for visitors to enjoy.

• Understand and comply with quality, safety, health and environmental policies.
• Take personal responsibility to protect the health and safety of people or the environment.
• Mow Lawns, cut edges, proficient use with zero turn mowers and use of whipper snipper.
• Remove litter from garden beds and driveways.
• Trim shrubs and plants and remove dead branches and leaves.
• Check function of irrigation system and report faults or insufficient/excessive watering.
• Monitor plant condition, report any disease, infestation and treat accordingly with our approved procedure.
• Apply fertiliser as per instructions.
• Use of spraying equipment like backpack sprayer, knapsack sprayer and motorised spraying equipment, to control weeds, pests and insects.
• Tasks to be carried out in a manner that causes the least inconvenience to customers, staff and the general public.
• Operate equipment and machinery in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and company operating procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance on, gardening tools and equipment.
• Assist in the provision of on-the-job training.
• Inspect products and/or materials for compliance with established operational standards.
• Follow written instructions, verbal direction and procedures to perform work.

Skills and Experiences:

SELECTION CRITERIA:

ESSENTIALS:

• Trade qualified person who has completed relevant post trade training in Certificate III in Horticulture (Floriculture) from a recognised Registered Training Organisation; or
• Not less than three years’ experience in practical horticulture and possesses the skills, knowledge and experience to perform work within the scope of this level.
• Proven ability to carry out the tasks outlined in the key responsibilities.
• Class C Driver’s Licence (manual).
• Exercise good interpersonal and communications skills.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
• A positive National Police Security Check Report.
