Job summary

Eureka Villages is seeking a casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer in Nowra to handle lawn mowing, garden care and general maintenance around the village. You will work in a hands-on role, often independently, to keep outdoor areas safe, clean and well-presented for residents.

The position offers 15–20 hours per week in winter, with more in summer, and pays the Casual Level 2 Aged Care Award rate of $36.09 per hour plus super.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping, gardening or property maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate common gardening equipment.
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Lawn mowing, edging and garden upkeep.
• General handyman tasks and minor maintenance around the village.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or hazards.
• Keep tools, equipment and common areas safe and tidy.
• Collaborate with Village Manager, residents and contractors to maintain the village.

What's the role?

We're looking for a casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer to support maintenance and grounds work currently being undertaken by contractors.

• Lawn mowing, edging and general upkeep of gardens and outdoor areas
• General handyman duties and minor maintenance around the village
• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues, hazards or repairs requiring further attention
• Keeping tools, equipment, grounds and common areas safe, tidy and well maintained
• Working collaboratively with the Village Manager, residents and contractors to keep the village running smoothly

You’ll Ideally Bring

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening, property maintenance, handyman work or another practical role
• Confidence safely using common gardening equipment, tools and completing basic maintenance tasks
• Good practical judgement and a strong awareness of workplace health and safety
• A reliable and self‑motivated approach, with the ability to manage your workload independently
• A friendly, respectful manner and the ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues
