Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking Ground Crew (Ramp) to support ramp services across Australia. You will load and unload baggage, move it to terminals and aircraft, and operate specialised ramp equipment in a fast-paced outdoor setting.

You will read and interpret loading manifests and hazardous material labels while maintaining a strong safety focus and teamwork. This permanent part-time role is based at Mascot airport with shift penalties and travel discounts as benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to repetitively lift up to 32 kg.
• Be fit and comfortable working in a manual handling role.
• Able to work effectively within a team and follow OH&S guidelines.

Job Description

As Ground Crew (Ramp), you will provide Ramp Services to meet the needs of our customers who are travelling across Australia and the globe. Working in a fast-paced, outdoor operational environment, you will load and unload customer baggage, transport it to terminals and aircraft and operate a range of specialised equipment.

With safely as our first priority, you’ll read and interpret hazardous material identification labels and aircraft loading manifests as well as baggage and cargo routing tags. You’ll work around aircraft and have experiences like no other.

You’ll have –

• A current and valid full state or territory driver’s license
• The ability to repetitively lift items up to 32 kgs in weight
• Availability to work a 7-day week rotating shift roster
• Be fit and comfortable working in a manual handling or physical role, within a fast-paced operational environment
• Recent experience in a manual handling or physical role, within a fast-paced operational environment
• A passion for safety and working within OH&S guidelines at all times
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• A hard-working nature and a positive ‘can do’ attitude
