Job summary

Campbelltown City Council NSW is offering a graduate opportunity in urban planning with hands-on development assessment exposure. You will work closely with developers, government agencies and the community to ensure planning strategies promote walkable, well-connected public spaces that are safe and socially enabling.

Successful candidates will complete tertiary qualifications in Town/Urban Planning (or be close to graduation), hold a NSW driver’s license, and demonstrate strong communication

Qualifications

  • Completion of tertiary qualifications in Town/ Urban Planning or related field OR be eligible to graduate.
  • Current NSW Class driver's license
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral. Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience applying academic learning in a practical environment.
  • Assist in development assessment processes and liaise with developers, government agencies and the community.
  • Contribute to planning strategies that promote walkable, well-connected, safe and socially enabling public realm.

  • Salary range from $81,368.60 - $88,080.45 per annum + 12% superannuation

About the role:

This position provides an excellent opportunity for graduates to obtain hands on experience, implementing academic learning to a practical environment.

This opportunity will see your ongoing involvement in all aspects of development assessment and will have direct contact with developers, government agencies and the community and will work towards ensuring that planning strategies promote walkable and desirable public realm that is well- connected, safe and socially enabling.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
  • Completion of tertiary qualifications in Town/ Urban Planning or other related field OR be eligible to graduate.
  • Current NSW Class driver's license
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral. Ability to work in a team environment.
