Job summary

RSM Australia is seeking a candidate to build a foundation in restructuring, insolvency and advisory work by supporting a diverse range of corporate and personal engagements. Working with experienced professionals, you will develop practical commercial, financial and investigative skills while helping clients and stakeholders navigate complex and often time‑critical situations.

Essentially you should have a completed or near‑completed Business/Commerce degree (Accounting major) or Law degree

Qualifications

• Completed or near‑completed Business or Commerce degree, preferably with an Accounting major.
• Completed or near‑completed Law degree with an interest in restructuring and insolvency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a varied portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency, restructuring and advisory engagements under guidance.
• Review books and records, analyse financial information, trace transactions and identify key issues.
• Assist with trading, asset realisation and operational work, liaising with employees, creditors and clients.
• Prepare clear correspondence, working papers and reports for clients, creditors, courts, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Assist with BAS and tax lodgements, ASIC notices and ASIC Administration Returns.
• Maintain accurate engagement records and information in relevant systems with confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with colleagues and specialists across RSM to build commercial and technical capability.

About the role:

POSITION SUMMARY

Build a strong foundation in restructuring, insolvency and advisory work by supporting a diverse range of corporate and personal engagements. Working with experienced professionals, you will develop practical commercial, financial and investigative skills while helping clients and stakeholders navigate complex and often time‑critical situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support a varied portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency, restructuring and advisory engagements under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Conduct investigations by reviewing books and records, analysing financial information, tracing transactions and identifying key issues.
• Assist with trading, asset realisation and operational work, including liaising with employees, creditors, clients and other stakeholders.
• Prepare clear correspondence, working papers and reports for clients, creditors, courts, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Assist with statutory and regulatory compliance, including BAS and tax lodgements, ASIC notices, ASIC Administration Returns.
• Maintain accurate engagement records and information in relevant systems, applying sound judgement, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with colleagues and specialists across RSM, contributing ideas and building commercial and technical capability through hands‑on experience.

About you:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

• A completed or near‑completed Business or Commerce degree, preferably with an Accounting major
• A completed or near‑completed Law degree with an interest in restructuring and insolvency

Desirable

• An interest in corporations law, business operations or restructuring
