Job summary

University of Melbourne is seeking a Graduate Research Officer to administer enrolments, inductions and candidature variations for graduate researchers. You will provide policy guidance to researchers, supervisors and staff, and support induction and development events within defined service standards.

Join the Science Secretariat team to improve processes, share best practices, and produce reports and communications that assist compliance, planning and engagement across the faculty.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret policy and advise diverse stakeholders.
• Manage high-volume workloads with accuracy and meet deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication tailored for students, academics and senior staff.
• Value inclusive, student-centered service and teamwork.
• Proficient with databases, spreadsheets and reporting tools; quick learner of new systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer graduate researcher enrolments, inductions and candidature variations within policy frameworks and agreed service standards.
• Provide accurate advice on University and Faculty policies to graduate researchers, supervisors and professional staff.
• Plan and support induction, enrichment and professional development events for graduate researchers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing processes, implementing enhancements and sharing good practice across the team.
• Prepare reports and communications, including newsletter content, to support compliance, planning and engagement.
