Job summary

GEOSCAPES in Chatswood, NSW, invites applications for a Graduate Landscape Architect. The position supports recent graduates eager to develop design and technical skills within a collaborative studio.

You will work with landscape architects and directors across diverse projects and gradually take on more responsibility as your experience grows. The role focuses on concept design, landscape plans, documentation, plant scheduling and presentation graphics using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Landscape Architecture is essential.
• Recent graduates and applicants with up to ~2 years experience encouraged to apply.
• Australian work experience desirable but not essential.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of landscape concept designs.
• Prepare landscape plans, planting plans, details and documentation for DA, CC and construction stages.
• Produce graphics, presentations and reports using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Assist with plant selection, schedules and landscape specifications.
• Work with AutoCAD to develop landscape documentation.
• Attend project meetings and site visits as appropriate.
• Undertake site analysis, research and precedent studies.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Graduate Landscape Architect to join our Chatswood studio.

This role would suit a recent graduate or landscape architect in the early stages of their career who is enthusiastic, motivated and keen to develop their design and technical skills within a supportive studio environment.

You will work closely with our Landscape Architects, Senior Landscape Architects and Director across a diverse range of projects and will be given increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

Your role will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of landscape concept designs.
• Preparing landscape plans, planting plans, details and documentation for DA, CC and construction stages.
• Producing graphics, presentations and reports using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Assisting with plant selection, schedules and landscape specifications.
• Working with AutoCAD to prepare and develop landscape documentation.
• Assisting senior staff with project coordination and consultant information.
• Attending project meetings and site visits where appropriate.
• Undertaking site analysis, research and precedent studies.
• Assisting with the preparation of landscape design packages for a broad range of project types.
• Developing your understanding of construction detailing, materials, planting design and Australian landscape practice.

Our Requirements

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor or Master of Landscape Architecture, or equivalent, is essential.
• Recent graduates and applicants with up to approximately 2 years' professional experience are encouraged to apply.
• Australian work experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
• Strong graphic presentation skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• An understanding of planting design and landscape materials.
• A willingness to develop their technical documentation and construction knowledge.
• A sense of responsibility and pride in their work.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to manage their time and work effectively within a team.
