Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team designing, building, operating and supporting critical systems for Australian Government customers.

You'll work on projects across naval, weather, and defence infrastructure, supported from day one by a buddy and mentor, with structured on‑the‑job learning and opportunities to grow into an SME role.

Qualifications

• Final-year or recently completed Bachelor's degree required.
• Open to graduates with strong curiosity and potential to grow.
• A willingness to learn and collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers and project teams to understand operational needs and technical requirements.
• Assist in design, integration and delivery of complex systems.
• Develop engineering documentation, models and technical artefacts.
• Participate in system reviews, testing and verification activities.
• Collaborate with software, hardware and project teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Apply systems engineering principles to deliver high-quality, secure outcomes.
• Develop into an Electrical Engineering Subject Matter Expert.

About the opportunity

Systems Engineering is about seeing the bigger picture.

You'll work with multidisciplinary team focused on sustaining and introducing new capabilities into service for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Systems supported include:

• Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs)
• Ruggedised Portable Computing Systems
• Weather Stations and Weather RADAR equipment
• Hydrographic survey systems

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you'll contribute to activities such as:

About you

You're in your final year (or recently completed) a Bachelor's degree in:

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering

Eligibility

To be considered, you must:

• Be an Australian Citizen.
• Be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Be completing (or have recently completed) a relevant Bachelor's degree.

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian citizen and hold, or be eligible to obtain, a national security clearance.
