Job summary

Worrells (QLD) Pty Ltd is offering a Graduate Accountant role in our Brisbane CBD office, providing exposure to insolvency and restructuring matters from day one. You will receive structured training, hands-on work, and close mentoring from experienced professionals.

No insolvency experience is required; we’ll train you and support your CA/CPA qualification journey within a collaborative, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Commerce or final year.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to learn insolvency and restructuring.

Responsibilities

• Assist with insolvency, restructuring and advisory engagements across corporate and personal matters.
• Apply accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills to real commercial situations, including investigations into breaches of director duties, voidable transactions and insolvent trading.
• Work within Worrells’ special built systems and processes to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Learn insolvency legislation, regulatory requirements and best-practice frameworks.
• Collaborate with directors, accountants, lawyers, financiers and other stakeholders.
• Develop technical and professional skills under close coaching and supervision.
• Develop leadership skills by delegating to and guiding Financial Assistants.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join our passionate team in our Brisbane CBD office.

The Role

As a Graduate Accountant, you’ll work as part of a close-knit, high-performing team in our Brisbane CBD office, gaining exposure to a broad range of insolvency and restructuring matters.

From day one, you’ll be supported through structured training, hands‑on work, and close mentoring from experienced professionals.

Your role will include:

• Assisting with insolvency, restructuring and advisory engagements across corporate and personal matters
• Applying accounting, analytical and problem‑solving skills to real commercial situations, including conducting investigations into breaches of director duties, voidable transactions and insolvent trading
• Working within Worrells’ special built systems and processes to deliver high‑quality outcomes
• Learning insolvency legislation, regulatory requirements and best‑practice frameworks
• Collaborating with directors, accountants, lawyers, financiers and other stakeholders
• Developing technical and professional skills under close coaching and supervision
• Developing your own leadership skills by delegating to and guiding Financial Assistants.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• A degree in Accounting/Commerce (or be in your final year)
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
• An ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Confidence using technology in a paperless environment
• On track to meet the academic prerequisites to undertake CA or CPA qualification

No insolvency experience required, we’ll train you.
