Job summary

Fire & Rescue NSW is seeking a regulatory specialist to lead delivery and compliance of Community Safety programs. You will provide legislative and operational advice, strengthen governance and data integrity, and improve systems across AFSS, AFA, Hazmat and related programs.

The role requires interpreting legislation, guiding policy, and delivering evidence-based recommendations in writing to senior stakeholders. Hybrid work is available with strong career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and policy within a regulatory, compliance or government environment.
• Experience leading or contributing to business improvement initiatives, including process, system and workflow enhancements.
• Ability to analyse complex information and provide clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations, including written reports.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a related discipline (e.g. law, public policy, compliance, business or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery, compliance and continuous improvement of Community Safety regulatory programs by providing specialist legislative and operational advice.
• Strengthen governance and data integrity, and improve business systems and processes across AFSS, AFA, Hazmat, User Pays and related programs.
