Job summary

NCS Australia is seeking a Senior Google Cloud Solutions Architect to drive the adoption of cutting-edge cloud solutions for our clients. You will lead the design, deployment, and ongoing optimization of transformative cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

You will mentor junior engineers, engage with clients, and promote DevOps/GitOps practices using Terraform and IaC to ensure secure, scalable delivery. This role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and client-focused innovation.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of GCP services (Compute, Serverless, Kubernetes, Cloud Run, etc.) and cloud security best practices.
• Experience leading design and implementation of complex cloud solutions and mentoring teams.
• Proficiency with IaC, Terraform, GitOps and DevOps principles to enable automated delivery.

Job Description

As a Senior Google Cloud Solutions Architect at NCS, you will be a key leader in driving the adoption of cutting-edge cloud solutions for our clients. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud practice, leading the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of transformative cloud-based solutions that empower our clients to achieve their business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Solution Architecture: Drive the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), aligning with client business needs and strategic objectives.
• Technical Expertise: Leverage deep expertise in GCP services, including [mention specific services relevant to your company, e.g., Compute Engine, Kubernetes, BigQuery, Dataflow], to architect and deliver innovative solutions.
• DevOps & Automation: Champion DevOps and GitOps principles, driving the adoption of automation and continuous delivery through tools like Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and providing expert guidance on cloud best practices, emerging technologies, and the value proposition of GCP.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, building consensus and driving stakeholder buy-in.

Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Strong GCP Expertise: Deep understanding of GCP services, including [mention specific services relevant to your company].
• DevOps & Automation: Proficiency in devops principles and tools, including GitOps, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Technical Leadership: Proven experience in leading the design and implementation of complex cloud solutions.

• Client Focus: Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills.

About you? You should have:

• A proven track record in IT, with a strong background focused on architecting and implementing solutions on GCP.
• Deep technical knowledge - Expert-level understanding of GCP services (Compute, Serverless, Kubernetes, Cloud Run, etc.), infrastructure as code (Terraform), GitOps, DevOps principles, and cloud security best practices.
• Must have strong knowledge and experience of Google Cloud Architecture processes.
• Strong communication and leadership - Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly, influence decision-makers, and inspire teams.
• Solution-oriented mindset - Passion for solving challenging problems, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional results.
• Certifications - Hold multiple Professional-level Google Cloud certifications (Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer, etc.), demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning.
• Consulting expertise - Experience gathering requirements, developing proposals, and presenting client solutions.

Additional desirable attributes include

• Industry vertical experience - A background in specific industries (finance, healthcare, etc.) is a plus.
• Open-source contributions - Demonstrated engagement with the broader cloud community is highly valued.
• Technical Certifications - Hold multiple Professional-level Google Cloud certifications (Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer, etc.)
• Project Management Experience is highly regarded, and certifications such as AgilePM, Prince2, CAMP, or PMP are valuable.
