Job summary

Starling is expanding its global cyber security team and seeking SOC analysts to support 24/7 operations across Sydney, Toronto, and UK colleagues. The role focuses on triage, response, investigation, and threat hunting using state-of-the-art tools.

We value hands-on technical capability, collaboration, and clear communication. Hybrid working is supported with Sydney as a base, and candidates from international offices are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in-house SOC experience.
• Experience with cloud security solutions (AWS/GCP).
• Experience in incident response and threat hunting.
• Strong communication and ability to explain tech to non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to mentor teammates and share knowledge.
• Solid understanding of mobile, network and OS security controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform incident triage, response and investigations across multiple sources.
• Investigate and respond to security alerts from Users and systems.
• Develop analytic triggers to improve alert efficacy.
• Maintain and improve incident handling and readiness processes.
• Proactively hunt threats based on threat intelligence.
• Document incidents and investigations clearly.
