Job summary

U.S. Pacific Fleet is seeking a qualified NDT Inspector in an overseas assignment located at Garden Island, Australia.

The incumbent will lead non-nuclear NDT inspections, plan workloads for at least six months, and coordinate manpower and resources to meet the program’s requirements. Responsibilities include investigating NDT quality issues, advising on cost-effective QA objectives, and developing training programs for NDT personnel.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in inspection and test functions for NDT programs (Visual, Magnetic, Liquid Penetrant, Ultrasonic).
• Leading and managing an inspection branch and coordinating support personnel.
• Ability to analyze inspection results and recommend corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all non-nuclear NDT inspections, recommendations, and alternatives with cost, radiation, and scheduling considerations.
• Plan workload and allocate manpower/resources for 6+ month horizons.
• Investigate NDT quality problems and implement corrective actions.
• Advise Shipyard NDT elements on achieving QA objectives cost-effectively.
• Plan and manage inspectors, trainers, and test personnel in NDT operations.
• Develop and maintain NDT QA indoctrination and training programs.
