Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Field Service Technician to support commissioning, service, and lifecycle performance of advanced power electronics systems. You will lead on-site activities, provide technical guidance, and ensure safe, reliable delivery across complex electrical installations.

This role requires extensive travel (90%+) domestically and internationally, offering exposure to diverse projects in industrial, energy, and marine environments, with a focus on customer satisfaction and rapid issue

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Electrician or degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Strong hands-on technical skills with power electronics and medium-voltage knowledge.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting of SFCs, VFDs, drives, switchgear, transformers, and power systems.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to customers during installation and service activities.
• Conduct on-site analysis of operational data and communicate findings to customers and site personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports on safety, project status, customer concerns, equipment issues, and failures.
• Deliver on-site guidance and training for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Support Quality team with root cause analyses and reporting of malfunctions and trends.
• Complete site documentation: weekly safety reports, checklists, records, and commissioning/service reports.
• Perform hands-on replacement, testing, and verification of electrical equipment in the field.
