Job summary

RGIT Australia in Shepparton, VIC, seeks a Glasshouse Operations Leading Hand to support daily delivery of glasshouse activities, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. You will lead by example, coordinate teams, and assist the supervisor in achieving operational targets.

Ideal candidates have horticulture/FMCG/manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while maintaining a safe working environment in a dynamic regional facility.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience in horticulture/FMCG/manufacturing environments with quality and safety focus.
  • Ability to train, guide and support team members on the floor.
  • Strong coordination to manage daily priorities without compromising quality.
  • Ability to interpret operational data to drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily team activities, onboard/train staff and escalate concerns.
  • Drive daily glasshouse priorities and support production targets.
  • Champion safe work practices, report hazards and support inspections.
  • Ensure accurate labour/production records and documentation.
  • Use data to inform performance conversations and standardize processes.

What you will be doing & delivering

Asa Glasshouse Operations Leading Hand,you'llbe responsible forsupportingthe day-to-day delivery of glasshouse operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. As a frontline leadership support role, you willlead by example on the floor, providing guidance, training, coordination, and support to operational teams whileassistingthe Glasshouse Operations Supervisor in delivering productivity, safety,qualityand labour performance outcomes.

  • Team LeadershipCoordinate daily team activities, model strong work standards, and support onboarding/training while escalating concerns promptly.
  • Operations DeliveryDrive daily glasshouse priorities, monitorquality/productivity, and support the team in hitting production targets.
  • Safety & ComplianceChampion safe work practices, report hazards/incidents, and support inspections and corrective actions.
  • Reporting & AdminEnsureaccurate,timelydata entry, labour/production records, and operational documentation.
  • Continuous ImprovementUse data to inform performance conversations and help standardize/optimize processes across operations.
