Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a GIS Production Engineer to join a high-performing geospatial delivery team in Melbourne. You will contribute to production, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise GIS data supporting mission-critical outcomes in a secure, regulated environment.

You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure efficient, repeatable workflows and deliver high-quality spatial products at scale. Australian citizenship and active clearance requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in GIS production or geospatial data engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of GIS platforms and tools (Esri ArcGIS or equivalent).
• Experience with spatial data formats, coordinate systems, geodatabases and metadata standards.
• Understanding of geospatial data quality, validation, and production workflows.
• Ability to follow structured production processes while identifying improvements.
• Strong attention to detail in team-based, deadline-driven environments, with scripting/automation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Produce, maintain, update, and validate geospatial datasets per standards and schedules.
• Support end-to-end GIS production workflows including ingestion, processing, QA, and release.
• Apply spatial analysis and geoprocessing to generate accurate GIS products.
• Develop and maintain automated or semi-automated GIS production processes.
• Perform QA and resolve data or production issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to documentation and mentoring of junior staff.
