Job summary

The Staff Specialist Geriatrician will join a regional referral health network, focusing on high-quality care for older people across inpatient, outpatient, community and residential settings. You will assess and manage complex multi-morbid conditions affecting cognition, function and independence, supported by a multidisciplinary team led by a Clinical Nurse Practitioner.

Qualifications

• Specialist registration with AHPRA or FRACP in Geriatrics.
• Enrolled in the RACP-Geriatrics training program within 6 months of fellowship.
• IMG with a confirmed RACP interview date.
• IMG assessed by RACP as substantially comparable.
• UK CCT or NZ Specialist credentials accepted.
• Sri Lankan Geriatric Consultants with Aus/UK experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage complex, multi-morbid conditions affecting cognition, function and independence.
• Provide senior medical leadership within the geriatric medicine service.
• Contribute to service development, education and contemporary models of care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, community and residential settings.

Hospital

The hospital is the principal referral centre for a large inland region of northern New South Wales and provides a comprehensive range of acute and subacute services.
