Job summary

Macquarie Geotechnical in Australia seeks a Geotechnical Engineer with 2–5 years of site investigation experience to manage geotechnical investigations, sampling and reporting for road, rail and mining projects.

You will work with a team, prepare proposals, coordinate subcontractors, perform field testing, logging and reporting, and contribute to safety documentation and client liaison across Central NSW projects.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit proposals as requested by Clients
• Project management and client liaison
• Engagement, review and management of subcontractors including safety documentation
• To liaise with the Geotechnical Manager to schedule daily/weekly work requirements
• Undertake engineering test pits using hand augers, backhoes & excavators
• Undertake supervision of drilling using 4wd & truck mounted drilling rigs
• Perform logging and sampling of soil & rock materials
• Undertake in-situ geotechnical testing such as dynamic cone penetrometer testing, hand shearvane testing, pocket penetrometer testing & plate load tests
• Complete and report proof roll inspections / stripping inspections / stability inspections
• Prepare geotechnical reports for review by the Geotechnical Manager and submission to the client
