Job summary

WSP is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Mining & Metals team in Australia. You will deliver geotechnical investigations, assessments, and field-based services for major mining and rail clients across Australia, with site travel and office work to support multidisciplinary projects.

You will plan and supervise investigations, log drill cores, interpret data, and contribute to earthworks and foundations design. Travel to remote sites around Western Australia will be required.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering geotechnical projects within mining, resources, or transport sectors.
• Experience with site investigations, drilling programs, and field supervision.
• Knowledge of geotechnical analysis and interpretation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise geotechnical site investigations and field programs.
• Log and interpret geotechnical drill core and field data.
• Undertake geotechnical assessments for mining and heavy haul rail projects.
• Support the design of earthworks, embankments, rail formations and foundations.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Provide construction support and field verification services.
