Job summary

The University of Queensland's Centre for Animal Science, within QAAFI, invites applications for a bioinformatics support role to process and analyse genomic data supporting livestock research. Qualifications

• Diploma-level qualification with relevant work experience in genomics or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular biology.
• Experience with genomic data-processing workflows and variant analysis.
• Experience working with genomic datasets in a research or lab setting.
• Ability to use bioinformatics workflows and scripting languages.
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete established bioinformatics workflows including genotyping and SNP QC.
• Process genomic datasets using established pipelines and scripts.
• Prepare and format datasets and metadata for downstream research.
• Monitor outputs, troubleshoot pipelines, and manage genomic data storage.
