Job summary

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Melbourne is seeking a Research Assistant for the General Medicine project. You will support qualitative and quantitative research on workforce development across Australia, working with clinical leads and project managers.

Launched under a Commonwealth Government initiative, the role focuses on regional, rural, and remote settings, with responsibilities spanning data collection, literature reviews, and dissemination of findings to inform medical

Qualifications

  • Qualification in a relevant discipline with exposure to qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Proficiency in data management and statistics using Excel and SPSS/Power BI.
  • Basic proficiency in qualitative analysis using NVivo.
  • High level written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential issues.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and delivery of qualitative and quantitative research for General Medicine workforce.
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with ethics applications.
  • Develop surveys and other tools for data collection and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support research activities.
  • Contribute to preparation of reports, publications and presentations.
  • Support dissemination of findings to inform workforce planning and training.
