Job summary

Family Planning Australia is seeking a motivated Medical Officer/GP (VR) to deliver high-quality reproductive and sexual health services in Dubbo, NSW. The role encompasses clinical care, education, and participation in regional outreach across Western NSW, including FIFO assignments.

The successful candidate will hold AHPRA VR, FPAA credentials (theory and practical), and demonstrate experience in LARC and abortion provision. Commitment to values-based care and team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Primary medical degree with current AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner (VR) or Specialist Sexual Health Physician.
• FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health (theory component) required.
• Broad clinical experience in reproductive and sexual health preferred.
• Skills in LARC insertion or willingness to be trained.
• Skills in abortion provision or willingness to be trained.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.

About the role

• Location: Dubbo NSW and Outreach across Western NSW

The General Practitioner (VR) is responsible for the provision of high quality reproductive and sexual health clinical services to Family Planning Australia clients and is required to work effectively in a team environment.

They will maintain high clinical standards and professional medical practices across the organization in accordance with Family Planning Australia policies, procedures and clinical guidelines. The role requires a high level of clinical reproductive and sexual health knowledge, skills and experience, excellent communication skills and sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.

Desired Skills and Experience
