Job summary

HireOn is recruiting General Practitioners (GPs) for established medical practices in Cairns, Townsville and Perth-area locations. These roles offer strong earning potential with 65%–75% of gross billings plus a $150–$250/hr minimum guarantee, location-dependent.

Selected positions may be in Distribution Priority Areas (DPA) and require eligibility under Medicare access rules. Full-time and part-time options available with relocation or housing assistance in some locations.

Qualifications

• Unconditional General or Specialist Registration with AHPRA / Medical Board of Australia.
• FRACGP or FACRRM.
• Experience in Australian general practice or primary care.
• Eligibility to provide Medicare-rebated medical services.
• Strong understanding of Australian primary healthcare and Medicare requirements.
• Credentialing and professional requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based general medical care.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Develop and monitor chronic disease management plans.
• Provide preventive healthcare, health assessments and immunizations.
• Conduct mental health assessments and care planning where appropriate.
• Perform minor procedures, skin checks and wound management within scope of practice.
• Request and interpret pathology, imaging and other diagnostic investigations.
• Refer patients to specialists and allied health professionals when clinically appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, allied health professionals and practice staff.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and continuing professional development.

About the Opportunity

These positions offer opportunities to work within established primary care practices serving diverse patient populations, with competitive billing arrangements and strong earning potential.

Selected positions may be located within Distribution Priority Areas (DPA) and may be suitable for eligible doctors subject to applicable Section 19AB / Medicare access requirements.

DPA and MMM classifications will be confirmed against the specific practice location during the recruitment process.
