Job summary

Altona Medical Centre is seeking a General Practitioner to join our established GP clinic in Melbourne. You will conduct patient consultations, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, and provide comprehensive primary care with a focus on preventative health.

You will manage chronic diseases, prescribe medications, perform health assessments, immunisations and referrals as needed. The role offers 38–40 hours per week with a competitive salary and superannuation contributions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent medical qualification.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner.
• Demonstrated experience in general practice and primary healthcare.
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations, examinations, and medical assessments.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe medications and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide preventative healthcare services and health promotion advice.
• Conduct routine medical examinations, health assessments, and screening programs.
• Manage patients with chronic health conditions and coordinate ongoing care plans.
• Order, review, and interpret pathology tests and imaging results.
• Administer immunisations and vaccinations according to guidelines.
• Provide women’s, men’s, children’s and aged care services.
• Refer patients to specialists when required.
