Maclean is in NSW's Northern Rivers, about 2 hours from the Gold Coast, with Medicare billings around 60–65%. Emergency services are optional, and there may be a Visiting Medical Officer position at Maclean District Hospital.

Qualifications

• GP must have at least 2 years of general practice experience.
• ALS course completed within the first year at the practice.
• Competent in general medicine, including general medicine and surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology, preventive health, chronic disease management, and mental health.
• Perfom Pap smears, vaccinations, CPR.
• Desirable: experience in excision of simple skin lesions.
• At least 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in managing chronic diseases desirable.
• Experience in general practice environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation and common law obligations.
• Demonstrate patient-focused approach with empathy and interest in patient needs.

Job description

A vacancy exists for a full time GP in an accredited General Practice facility in Maclean, NSW. A multidisciplinary team environment offers mentorship and support for the right person.

Maclean is in the heart of the Northern Rivers region in NSW. It boasts great educational facilities for both primary and high school levels.

The population of Maclean is approximately 3,000 and it is 2 hours from the Gold Coast.

60% - 65% Medicare Billings

Qualifications

• The GP we seek must have at least 2 years of general practice experience.
• The GP must attend the ALS course (if not already done so within the last 3 years) within the first year at the practice.
• The GP must be competent in general practice medicine, including general medicine and surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology, preventive health, chronic disease management, and mental health.
• The GP will be expected to competently perform the following procedures: Pap smears, vaccinations, CPR.
• It is desirable, but not essential, that the GP has experience in the excision of simple skin lesions.
• At least 2 years post qualification experience
• Experience in managing chronic diseases is desirable.
• Experience in general practice environment
• Demonstrate a knowledge of and compliance with all relevant legislation and common law obligations.
• Demonstrate patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs.
