Job summary

the original seeks an experienced locum non-specialist medical officer to provide onsite emergency and inpatient medical care in NSW facilities. You will perform face-to-face handovers, complete discharge summaries, and ensure thorough documentation in the eMR.

You will lead clinical reviews, rapid responses, trauma and cardiac arrest services, check results, and coordinate follow-up care. You may supervise students and junior doctors and participate in clinical meetings as requested.

Qualifications

• Advanced Life Support Level 2 within the last 3 years.
• Face-to-face clinical handover with day doctor for 30 minutes at the beginning and end of the shift in the Emergency Department.
• Provide medical care to inpatients, complete discharge summaries and review admitted patients as requested.
• Provide onsite medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Complete contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical documentation in eMR.
• Provide and lead clinical review, rapid response, trauma and cardiac arrest services across the facility.
• Check pathology and radiology results in the ED results message centre ordered by any doctor, follow-up and document management plans for any results needed further action and review any patients returning for follow-up of results.
• Participate in the training and supervision of students, junior medical officers and registrars.
• Participate in clinical meetings as requested
• Provide clear management plan for patients being admitted with full medication reconciliation and documentation.
• Accept transfers in from other hospitals and document care plan and medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite medical care to ED patients and inpatients.
• Complete contemporaneous documentation in electronic medical records (eMR).
• Lead clinical review, rapid response, trauma and cardiac arrest services as required.
• Review admissions, prepare discharge summaries and manage follow-up plans.
