Job summary

The Department of Health in Tasmania is seeking a Staff Specialist - General Medicine to join the North West region, servicing the NWRH and MCH. The role includes leading general medicine service delivery, subspecialty collaboration, and contributing to medical education with University of Tasmania links.

Fixed term full time, day work with on-call expectations, up to 76 hours per fortnight, from immediate start to 21 April 2029.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of current specialty practice in General Medicine and subspecialty.
• Demonstrated ability to provide specialty services as defined by allocated clinical privileges.
• Recent experience in an acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and help deliver Undergraduate general medical education program.
• Contribute to patient- and system-level health care improvements.
• Meet selection criteria and participate in pre-employment checks as required.
