Job summary

Constructive, a Sydney-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a senior leader to shape and execute the company strategy. You will own budgeting, forecasting, and governance while guiding finance, HR, and risk functions to support growth and pricing decisions.

Reporting to the founder and sitting on the leadership team, you will influence major commercial negotiations, risk management, and operations, driving efficiency through new systems and technology.

Qualifications

• Finance background with degree in Commerce, Finance, Business or related discipline.
• Strategic thinker who translates strategy into measurable results.
• Senior leadership experience (COO/CFO/general management) in engineering or professional services.
• Budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and cash flow expertise.
• Proven leadership of finance, HR, IT and administration teams.
• Commercial/contractual experience including negotiations, variations, claims and disputes.
• Working knowledge of risk, compliance and ISO quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Set the strategic plan as part of the senior leadership team and drive delivery with clear priorities and KPIs.
• Provide financial and strategic advice to shape growth and pricing.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, internal controls and month-end reporting.
• Lead Finance, HR, and Contracts & Risk functions.
• Own risk, compliance and governance framework, including ISO quality systems.
• Lead major contract reviews, commercial negotiations, and oversee variations and disputes.
• Innovate in new systems and technology to improve efficiencies and productivity.
• Manage relationships with accountants, auditors, banks, insurers, legal and IT providers.

About You
